The Dark Side of the Party

SOS 4.8

May, 2015

The Dark Side of the Party looks at the underside of parties and their material and social currents that create hierarchies: whether velvet ropes, social media invites to a select few, exclusively expensive clubs, access to status-symbol clothing, or geographic accessibility. The program was composed of three intertwined focal points: a selection of artists, architects and other agents who tackled these matters in diverse ways and media; the section of voices or conferences where the multitude of specialists faced these issues from various stances and disciplines; and an architectonic installation in the festival site’s auditorium that held all these interventions
