What is a house?

ARCO Madrid

February, 2009

A house is something more than a private space. It is a basic tool for living in our time. Currently, various approaches to domestic space as an arena in which ideologies, political positions, and affective bonds are resolved proliferate in the artistic field. From the Boston School to Bestué/Vives or Marjetica Potrc constructions, many artists have made different reflections on the same theme: the house as the main subject of their works.

Curator: Ivan L. Munuera

Artists: Matthew McCaslin (Fred, London), Mònica Fuster (Pepe Cobo), Jennifer Steinkamp (Soledad Lorenzo), Effie Paleologou (The Apartment).
